Not skiing this half term… what else to do?

Half term is a great time for families. Here is my guide to what to do in Verbier if your not skiing or do not want to be skiing all the time.

With sunshine in the forecast why not put on your walking shoes and head out. Verbier has some fantastic restaurants you can walk to and meet up with the keen skiers in the group. Chez Danny is situated in a quiet secluded sun-trap with fantastic view out over the valley. Great to take a book and sit and read before enjoying a fantastic lunch. Also Marlenaz is a great spot. Enjoy views of Verbier whilst escaping the business of the centre of town.

Although you may not be skiing, a visit to the top of Mont Fort is definitely worth it. With unspoilt views of the French, Italian and Swiss Alps take the cable cars to the top and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Wrap up warm as it is cold at 3200m but its great to stand at the top of the mountain and enjoy the amazing views. You can then decent back down and enjoy lunch at my favourite mountain spot the restaurant Dahu.

Verbier is not all about eating but if your looking for some more relaxing sports why not take a swim. The sports centre has a great pool. Not often busy especially mornings and later in the evenings you can enjoy a calm swim whilst enjoying the views of the mountain. Also check out wholeycow for their fantastic range of yoga and fitness classes. Situated in the centre of Verbier its the perfect activity to stay in shape. After you finish at Wholeycow you can visit the fantastic La Cuccina (situated next to PAM supermarket in Place Central) Their juices are too die for.
